Akhil Bhartiya Gramin Uthan Samiti, NGO Hosts Camp in Commemoration of World Blood Donation Day
In honour of World Blood Donation Day, Akhil Bhartiya Gramin Uthan Samiti (ABGUS), a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to rural development partnering with SBI Foundation under Gram Seva programme, organized a successful blood donation camp at the Community Health Centre in Tauru, Nuh District. The event, held in collaboration with Community Health Centre, Tauru and the Blood Bank Mandikheda, witnessed an overwhelming response from the local community.
World Blood Donation Day, observed annually on June 14th, serves as a global reminder of the crucial need for safe blood and blood products, and to express gratitude to voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts. ABGUS recognized the significance of this day by mobilizing efforts to ensure adequate blood supplies for medical emergencies in the region.
The camp, which commenced at 9:00 AM and continued until 3:00 PM, attracted a large number of donors from various walks of life, including young men and women, students, professionals, and community members. Under the meticulous supervision of medical professionals Dr Kapil Dev of CHC-Incharge and Dr Swati Yadav from Blood Bank Mandikheda, the donation process proceeded smoothly, adhering to strict safety protocols and ensuring the well-being of donors. Total 47 units of blood were donated and collected.
Mr. Rajesh Verma, Secretary and Executive Director of Akhil Bhartiya Gramin Uthan Samiti, expressed his gratitude towards the donors and volunteers, stating, “Our organization is deeply committed to serving the community, and initiatives like these epitomize our collective efforts towards fostering a culture of altruism and compassion. The overwhelming response we’ve received reaffirms the generosity and solidarity of the people of Tauru.”
The event not only aimed at replenishing blood reserves but also sought to raise awareness about the critical importance of regular blood donations in saving lives. By fostering a culture of voluntary blood donation, Akhil Bhartiya Gramin Uthan Samiti hopes to contribute significantly to the healthcare infrastructure of the region.
As the camp concluded, donors were acknowledged for their invaluable contribution towards this noble cause, and certificates of appreciation were distributed as tokens of gratitude. Dr Kapil Dev and Ms Manju Yadav of Akhil Bhartiya Gramin Uthan Samiti extend heartfelt appreciation to all donors, volunteers, and partners for their unwavering support in making the event a resounding success.
