World Environment Day: Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Plants 400 Trees, GPCB Regional Officer applauds Green Initiative
In a powerful demonstration of industrial sustainability and environmental responsibility, Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Pvt. Ltd., Gujarat’s pioneering common boiler and effluent treatment facility, commemorated World Environment Day 2025 by planting over 400 native trees within its campus. The initiative was held in collaboration with the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and was graced by the presence of Mr. Dilip M Rathod, Regional Officer, GPCB Mehsana.
The plantation drive included a rich mix of indigenous species such as Rain Tree, Gulmohar, Peltophorum, Lagistromia, Cordia, Spethodia, Champa, Terminalia, Kasid, Saptaparni, and Kachnar, all selected for their ecological resilience, carbon sequestration ability, and shade-giving properties—contributing meaningfully to the region’s biodiversity and microclimate.
This initiative aligns with the 2025 World Environment Day theme: “Beat Plastic Pollution.” Reinforcing its environmental stewardship, Vihaan has implemented a set of bold measures to reduce plastic usage across its facility, including:
· Eliminating single-use plastics from the premises.
· Hosting awareness workshops for employees and neighboring industrial units to encourage sustainable practices.
Amit Badlani, Managing Director – Vihaan Clean & Green Tech Pvt. Ltd., stated, “At Vihaan, we strongly believe that environmental sustainability is not a one-day celebration but a way of life. This year’s theme – ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ – deeply resonates with our vision. From treating industrial effluents responsibly to reducing plastic usage in our own operations, we are committed to being a catalyst of positive change. Our plantation of over 400 trees in the last month is just one of the many steps toward building a cleaner, greener Mehsana.”
Mr. Dilip M Rathod, Regional Officer – GPCB Mehsana, added, “I commend Vihaan for taking proactive steps to honor the spirit of World Environment Day. Industrial players like Vihaan are setting an example by integrating pollution control with green infrastructure. Their commitment to tackling plastic pollution and expanding green cover reflects the kind of leadership the environment sector needs. GPCB looks forward to continued collaboration with such forward-thinking enterprises.”
