IIM Sirmaur Successfully Concludes Pioneering HR Retreat for THDC India Limited and Other Leading PSUs

IIM SirmaurThe Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (IIM Sirmaur) recently concluded a three-day Management Development Program (MDP) titled “HR Retreat: Navigating the Emerging Trends,” held from May 16 to 18, 2024. The program took place at the Takshashila Sustainable Livelihood & Community Development Centre, THDCIL, in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. This training initiative was hosted by THDC India Limited, aiming to bring the HR fraternity together from various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), including THDC India Ltd., SJVNL, UJVNL, NHPC, Rattle HPCL, Power Grid Corporation of India. Also, participants were from REC Limited and NEEPCO.

The MDP was inaugurated by Smt. Geet Kapur, Ex-Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN Limited, Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL and Sh. Veer Singh, CGM (HR & A), THDC India Ltd. Dr. Shashi Kant Srivastava, Chairperson of CMDP & LDP at IIM Sirmaur, felicitated the esteemed dignitaries. The MDP was conducted under the guidance of Professor Prafulla Y. Agnihotri, Director at IIM Sirmaur. Dr. Rinki Dahiya and Dr. Sonakshi Gupta, Program Director(s) and faculty members specializing in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, along with Dr. Shashi Kant Srivastava from the Information Technology and Systems department, facilitated the sessions. The “HR Retreat” was designed to equip HR professionals and management executives with cutting-edge strategies and insights necessary for thriving in today’s fast-evolving business landscape. The program featured an extensive exploration of the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in Human Resources. Key topics covered during the program included: building high-performance teams, contemporary styles of leadership, essential leadership attributes for 2024, change management, utilization of HR metrics and dashboards, and blockchain technology in HR. Participants engaged in a blend of interactive workshops, expert-led discussions, and practical exercises, gaining profound insights into the emerging trends shaping the HR function. Dr. Rinki Dahiya shared, “The goal was to provide critical insights into technological advancements, digital transformation, and shifting workplace dynamics, all of which are essential for reshaping HR strategies and practices.”

Maj. Gen. (Retd.) R. K. Jha, Director (Personnel), NEEPCO, and Sh. Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL, congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the program during the valedictory ceremony. Sh. S.K. Sharma, AGM(HRD) and Sh. Ravi Budhlakoti, Manager (HRD) gave the vote of thanks in the valedictory ceremony. The program marks a continued commitment for the future knowledge partnerships between IIM Sirmaur and leading PSUs, setting a benchmark for collaborative efforts in developing human resources.
