HR Summit on “HR Genesis- From Inception, Beyond Infinity” organised by Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management/ The People Management Media Partner, successfully held on 27th September, 2024| Hotel Radison, Udhyog Vihar, Gurgaon

Keynote 1: Mr. Rohit Vishal Gupta, CHRO, Varun Beverages | Topic: Flexi Fleet: Adapting to Gig Dynamics. HR Summit

Mr Rohit Vishal Gupta, talked about the difference between Gig and Moonlighting, New rhythm of work, Skills stacking over Specialisation. Despite the benefits, the integration of gig workers and moonlighting poses several challenges for organizations, he mentioned. He further added about all generations have different perspectives in work place and why to make different strategies to Gen Z.

Ms. Arshiya Singh, Director-Global Compensation, BCG, Ms. Manvi Chhabra, Lead-Lateral and Campus Hiring, Alvarez & Marsal, Dr. Tanya S, Senior Vice President, American Express, Mr. Amit Jha, Senior HR Manager, Parijat Industries, participated and provided their corporate thoughts.

Ms. Arshiya Singh very well mentioned that organisation’s Culture, Flexibility is a part of compensation. She gave examples of companies like TCS, TATA’s – how they value culture and work life balance.

Ms. Manvi Chhabra mentioned that upskilling is important for both employees and businesses because it helps people adapt to a rapidly changing world and stay competitive in the job market.

Dr. Tanya S’s perspective was different from other speakers. She said that by letting your employees control their own work and set their own goals, you will get more motivated people. Employees driven by very specific purpose may be exactly what a company needs to get the job done quickly, correctly and efficiently.

Mr. Amit Jha mentioned that the “Connect” with employees is imperative. He further said that engaged employees are more invested in their work, which can lead to higher productivity and quality work. They are also more likely to stay with the company longer and practice safe work behaviors.

Keynote 2: Mr. Rahul Jain, General Manager-HR, Eicher Engines (TAFE Group on | Topic: Wisdom Wave: Riding the Knowledge Crest

Mr. Rahul Jain explained about Future of Workforce, What Industry expects from HR, What should we do in HR? He further added that Reengage, Connect with a purpose, Creating Opportunities within the organisation is very important for the organisation. Reshaping the HR function which includes: refreshing leadership in a new context, Tech-savy workforce is the utmost important to stay competitive.

Session II: Topic: Netting the Right Fit: Matching Talent to Success| Moderated by Dr. Yashomandiera Kharde, Corporate Relations Head, SIOM.

Eminent speakers for Session II from leading organisations such as :

HR Summit Mr. Kuldeep Singh, Head- Total Rewards India Sub Continent, Akzonobel, Ms Arti Shourie Bhogal, HR Head, Del Monte Foods, Mr Nitin Mishra, Head of Talent Acquisition, Cushman & Wakefield participated and provided their insighful thoughts.

Mr. Kuldeep Singh rightly said a successful business is made up of Three Ps: People, Process, and Product. He further added that Recognition helps employees see that their company values them and their contributions to the success of their team and the company overall. He very well said that total rewards encompass more than financial compensation i.e. Health, wellbing, emotional wellbeing. However all above differs to all generations.

Ms. Arti Shourie Bhogal, advised the leaders to adopt the new leadership. Leading with heart and empathy is very important rather by muscle and brain.

According to Mr. Nitin Mishra Right Fit- is extended now! When hiring for culture fit, companies look for candidates who they believe will integrate smoothly into their existing work environment. Create an environment within your team and organization that values adaptability is important.

Keynote 3: Ms. Ruchi, Mago, Head HR and Employee Experience, Orange Business India | Topic: Diversity Dock: Anchoring Inclusion, Building Diversity.

HR Summit Ms. Ruchi Mago spoke about workplace inclusion where all employees feel valued and supported, regardless of their background or identity. She explained it very well that “Inclusion is the soil in which diversity can flourish”. Research has long shown that diverse teams are more productive, more engaged, and the companies that create them are more profitable! However, there is still a gap between expectations and outcomes.

After mind-blowing session and debate has touched upon several aspects including the upskilling, Talent fit with culture, Competencies required for future ready. On other hand, the discussions happened on implementation of adopting new leadership style for all business Leaders for future success. HR and all leaders must reimagine the work and workforce, nurture skills and capabilities.
