By combining vision, discipline, and accountability, LMI ensures that individuals ACT on becoming the best version of themselves both at a personal and professional level.”

In an era where talent is abundant but sustained performance is scarce, the Potential-Performance Gap has become a global epidemic. Individuals, Organizations & even Nations possess immense potential & capability but fail to consistently translate it into measurable results. This gap is visible across Industries, Organisations, & Individuals, where untapped potential and resources remain underutilized.

When you are not achieving your potential there is that frustration and emptiness that starts to build up. This leads to loss of energy and motivation resulting in a disengaged workforce. Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2025 report reveals that Global Employee Engagement fell to 21% in 2024, costing an estimated $438 billion in lost productivity. This staggering figure highlights the urgency of bridging this Potential-Performance divide.
Benchmark report by 3Sixty Insights suggests that low engagement decreases business outcomes substantially and it costs the global economy 9% of Global GDP translating to $8.9 trillion annually. A small positive change thus could bring billions of dollars in business growth.

Mahatma Gandhi famously said, “The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems.” Millions of professionals worldwide have skills, education and ambition, yet unclear vision, inefficient workplace systems, and poor leadership creates an unhealthy work environment which rather than fostering engagement, excitement and proactivity, leads to burnout, lack of energy and reactivity, preventing people from working at their peak potential. People avoid ownership, accountability, decision making and taking risks, trying to stay safe in a hostile environment leading to mediocre performance at both individual & organisational levels.

Underlying this organisational & systemic breakdown is the Individual. If we can focus on the individual and help improve at the individual level starting right at the top of an organisation & percolating to the very bottom, the individual productivity will improve, leading to a cumulative improvement in organizational productivity.
At LMI (Leadership Management International) we have discovered that at individual level the challenges primarily arise from

1. Unclear and poorly defined Goals – Paul Meyer used to say “If you are not making the progress that you would like to make and are capable of making, it is simply because your goals are not clearly defined”.

2. Poor Habits both professional & personal – “Success does not come from large events it comes from our daily routine, it comes from what we choose to do every day”.

3. Lack of Discipline – Talent without discipline is potential without direction. Discipline is the bridge between intention and achievement.

4. Lack of adequate Communication Skills – Communication is the currency of leadership. Without it, collaboration collapses, relationships weaken, and performance suffers.

5. Poor Priority & Time Management – We don’t loose time in hours we loose time in minutes and as Paul Meyers said “I recommend that you take care of the minutes for the hours will take care of themselves”.

These lead to lack of motivation, accountability and ownership further leading to lack of measurement & feedback loops resulting in inconsistency across levels lowering the productivity significantly.

We need to understand that potential is intangible – talent, ambition, skill, competence; Performance by contrast is tangible, observable and measurable – Revenue, Productivity, Quality, Retention, Profits. Unless and until we are able to translate the improvement in intangibles to clearly trackable & measurable results it is extremely difficult to work on them consistently. We at LMI help people convert these intangibles to tangible SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Tangible) Goals.

The genius of LMI lies in it’s structured yet personalized approach: it doesn’t just inspire people; it equips them with tools and an accountability partner to act on that inspiration. By combining vision, discipline, and accountability, LMI ensures that individuals ACT on becoming the best version of themselves both at a personal and professional level. Once we take responsibility of becoming action oriented, we become unstoppable.

Each participant goes through a minimum of 9-week long journey of self-discovery and Introspection. Gap Assessment – Goal Setting – Validating the goals – Goal Planning – Identifying the key actions to achieve those goals – Action Scheduling – Time Auditing – Actions – Results – Tracking & Feedback and the loop continues. As their actions start to produce results, increasing their personal productivity, they are seamlessly transitioned into working with and through people by understanding the three pillars of communication – Empathy, Asking Open Ended Questions & Active Listening. This fosters better understanding between team members leading to better collaboration, leading to better and faster decision making, leading to better results in record times. As they start to know their team members better, they start to focus on developing each team member to be the best version of themselves and help them to walk the path to working at their peak potential both personally and professionally.

Our founder Paul J Meyer gave us the Total Leader Concept which led to the creation of the Wheel of Life – Each individual has to be satisfied in all six areas of life – Personal & Health, Family & Home, Financial & Career, Social & Cultural, Spiritual & Ethical and Mental & Educational. That is the reaql meaning of work life balance. The magic is to understand Humane Productivity, to appreciate the fact that if an individual is happy and satisfied in all areas of life, he/she becomes more positive, more energetic, more resourceful, more solution centric and more action oriented.

We don’t have to work more hours to become more productive, we have to work more in the hours that we have. If we do that, it will give us the freedom and time to work on our health, be with our family, chase our hobbies, go out with friends, focus on spirituality and on upskilling ourselves. We need to prioritise both mental & physical wellbeing for ourselves and for others as that is the foundation of who we become, it has to become a way of life, everything that we do should be done by keeping health in mind. This ability to prioritise and take action in all areas of life helps us become a total person who is internally motivated to go out there and take charge of his/her life. We become the Best Version Of Ourselves, achieving our potential and working at peak performance both in our personal & professional lives.

LMI is a Texas based organisation present in 90 countries and we are proud to represent LMI in South Asia as we continue to serve our clients and customers, touching lives and making a difference.
